This review is the product of some unfortunate circumstances. First of all, the custom work on the jersey I ordered following Colorado's 2022 Stanley Cup win is perfect. After taking measurements of myself and other jerseys I own, I ordered a size 52, since that's what every other authentic jersey I own is, from several different brands. Unfortunately, Primegreen, despite being marketed as "authentic," are not the same as the jerseys actually worn by players, whose sizes are built to compensate for player equipment. A 52 Primegreen is more similar to a large size t-shirt, whereas an authentic 52 of an older jersey such as my Koho fits more like a 2-3XL shirt.
Due to this, there is no way this 52 jersey will fit me without altering my bone structure. The next unfortunate thing is that I placed it as a custom order, and due to this, HA's policy prevents me from returning or refunding it. I was offered a compromise by their customer service representative that if I was able to get the customization undone on my own, I'd be able to return it, but since the patches are both sewn and glued on, having it perfectly removed is a gamble at best, and a service not offered by any place I know of nearby. This goes above and beyond their policy, which is something they didn't have to offer, but I'm leery of paying shipping (and potentially duty for crossing the US border) in addition to a service fee to potentially ruin an otherwise perfect jersey. I suppose my only recourse is to hopefully someone who'd take it off my hands at a reasonable price, as it's in pristine "NWT" condition.
Obviously, this is not HockeyAuthentic's fault, as they do not produce the Adidas jerseys themselves, and their policy is quite clearly displayed. It's just unfortunate that I made a $300 mistake with no real way to remedy it. I rated this review at 4/5 because, while I'm basically screwed out of a substantial amount of money, it's not technically HA's fault, but I wanted to have it stand out for visibility. Anything less would be unfair, as the order was filled out perfectly and delivered within the estimated time they supplied. The bottom line is that anyone who hasn't purchased a Primegreen jersey before to purchase it at your shirt size, as these are not sized to compensate for player equipment like the jerseys I was gifted in my teen years in the 2000s decade.
It was a horrible, traumatic customer experience, but not for the reasons you'd think. If I'd ordered a size 60 (which fits similarly to a 52 authentic Koho/Nike jersey, aside from being a few inches too tall), this would be a 5/5, 100% positive review. The "buyer beware" tenor of this review is direct at Adidas's sizing on pseudo-authentic jerseys that, despite being marketed as authentic by Adidas, are not the same product that NHL players wear.
